Colors from past

A fresh breeze which was started with the release of colored Mugle-E-Azam is about to be transformed in to cool storm, thanks to the technology, with the process of colorization going on some good old’ films. With in few days a classic by B.R.chopra “Naya Daur” starring Dilip kumar, Vajayanti Mala, Pran and all others is going to be released in colors. So called new generation will be lucky to see the stars again. Everything especially in entertainment is driven my money the success of Mugle-E-Azam has prompted the other film makers of yester years to do the same. Like Devanand saab announcing the coloring of HUM DONO starring himself and beautiful Sadhna. In the rushes of colored film sadhna looks stunning, wonder present day glamour girls how will react to the competition, which they are doomed to lose. A hair cut involving her name still popular puts any speculations to rest if you had any.

What a question arises what is the future of these old wines in bottles rather colored bottles. Do we need them at all? The answer is just YES, why, the reasons are

  1. It is not just colorization going it is also the restoration work going on, which needs money which is generated by releasing it again.

  1. Other reason is our present day film makers who are keen on producing trash or just replicas of Hollywood flicks, one is just out and other is coming out in few days.Dont you want to know their names. Yes we all do. A country whose literature consists of vast amount stories of epic proportion which when converted in celluloid’s will put Lord of rings series to some serious one-sided competion. But no for them copies are much better than originals .Why don’t they Dub those English flicks and release them, deffinately will save a lot of time.

You must have heard about a film Fool n Final if not seen it. Don’t see it if you have seen “Snatch” remember Brad Pitt.earlier film from the same producer was again the great replica. It is not that Sahid does this copies even Badshah Sharukh also did few years back named “Badshah” a frame to frame copy of “nick of time” watch it to enjoy the originality.

In Indian sport movies a Rahul Bose starring (starring????????) film “chain khuli ki main khuli” is on the verge of releasing. Film is about a child who plays cricket with a special bat which he thinks was used by kapil ji in 1983 WC. The child is also orphan living in orphanage. Now just replace cricket with basket ball, kapil ji with Michael Jordan and bat with shoes you will get the original film, is films name matter.

So instead watching these copies why not watch our old classics in colors. So please save your money just surf your TV you will find the original movies. But if even Sanjay leela could not resist himself from shooting some scenes of Black just like the original the “miracle worker” how can others can resist the temptation.infact the list is too long to write here it was just a glance of ugly face.

Lathi-charged

Some things never change despite repeated efforts; some images on TV in last few days have confirmed the above statement. Police lathi charged men, women and even harmless old man, even kicking them. People on receiving end of the stick were obviously poor some where protesting to get their FIR lodged, some where asking for reservations .what those people did that police have to fire at them. I think these farmers are not trained in Iraq and having weapons with them. In Dausa till now 20 people have lost their lives.

But what is disturbing if we look at the actions of police on B/W TV with mute on, “WE" will find these images pretty similar to some images of our freedom struggle. Just the uniforms have changed but the Ravana in side remains the same.

Let’s consider two instances of slaved India

1) April 13, 1919 a black day in the Indian history but also a day which was vital for the freedom struggle. Day on which 400 innocent people including children and women were slaughtered in broad day light by 50 soldiers on the order of General Dyer. General had positioned himself on the lone exit point of the bagh (Garden) which resulted in the no escape for those peoples. Around 1650 round were unloaded on unarmed people in Jallianwala Bagh. People had come there to attend the protest meeting. being Batsakis peasants from other villages also came to Amritsar .many got bullets and many were trampled and many dived into the sole well in the bagh to save their lives only to get die there. later General said had he not ran out of ammunition he would have continued with the firing which left 1200 people seriously wounded with no medical help. Later on he was declared “savior of Punjab” by British Raj, just like our present day encounter specialists get honored.

2) Lahore, 1928 Lala Lajpat Rai was leading a peaceful procession, but that was not to the liking of captain sanders who ordered Lathi charge, just like our modern day police, which resulted in the death of noted leader Lala ji as he was popularly known.

Whether we live in slaved India or independent one the men in khaki behave to some extent same. As for them nothing changed on 15 august 1947 instead of Queen and Mountbatten the pictures of Gandhi and important ones filled in the wall spaces. But the people like Kiran bedi do give hint of fresh air but in this polluted world we definitely need lots of fresh air not in higher ranks but also in lower ranks.
